Director of Strategy

The Director, Strategy is a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for the constantly changing landscape of digital video advertising. Managing a team of Strategists across the nation, they drive business growth via relaying new and established product insights, best practices and recommendations to new and existing clients during the pre-sale RFP process. This person is an experienced professional who is focused, disciplined, has a deep understanding of client needs and knows how to navigate between simple and complex requests with a sense of urgency and maturity. This individual enforces that clients see and understand the CF vision and thinking with each proposal and opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and manage a team of Strategists across the nation to be high-achieving in both their practical day-to-day RFP product & process knowledge and in internal and external relationship building
  • Develop plans, strategy, and big ideas for key clients
  • Aid Strategists in developing sound and effective plans and strategies in RFP responses, integrating learnings and best practices into RFP responses
  • Ensure Strategists are creating tactical digital media plans to align with the most suitable Channel Factory offerings and client KPIs in a timely manner
  • Aid Marketing in building sales materials that include but are not limited to case studies, RFIs, category best practices, market trends, and product updates for clients
  • Actively read about, research and interpret changes in the digital video landscape, particularly YouTube/Google Ads, in order to guide and recommend strategic solutions tailored to each client
  • Share pre-sales proposal & client updates with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to proactively pitch opportunities to non-active clients and encourage new campaigns
  • Attend client meetings and events (for the time being, virtual) to pitch with Sales as needed
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound Strategy materials are “client ready” (flawless, legible, and enticing presentation) and meet operation standards
  • Constantly assess and rebuild existing processes & written guides for inefficiencies and redundancies
  • Reinforce accuracy and integrity of CRM data in Salesforce
  • Communicate, advise, and field questions from clients or Sales Executives
  • As part of management, participate and own projects that address business needs and hold applicable trainings to elevate company’s knowledge
  • Oversee Strategy’s relationship with Sales Executives, Marketing, Account Management and Ad Operations to seamlessly transition campaign from pre- to post-sales
  • Mentor and aid in team’s growth (individual and the group), strategic development and media comprehensionEnsure and reinforce Strategy team’s bandwidth capabilities with other departments
  • Own the analytics and “wins” of the team

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience at an ad tech vendor or digital media agency is required
  • 4+ years of managing an internal team is required
  • 4+ years of direct client communication and management is required
  • Ideal candidates should have 4+ years of hands-on strategic planning and pitching experience
  • 3+ years of digital video advertising experience in an auction marketplace; preferably in YouTube via Google Ads/DV360, Facebook/Instagram PMDs, and/or Programmatic/Trading Desks
  • Account Management and/or Campaign Implementation (post-sales) experience is preferred
  • SalesForce experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree

      • Skillset to break down complicated digital or YouTube ecosystem concepts into simple ideas
    • Passion for Digital Video Sales:
      • Driven and determined to learn and adapt in a fast-paced digital world
      • Gets a rush from being a part of the Sales cycle and is not shy about pushing for more business
      • Bonus points if you are Google Ads or Facebook/Instagram certified
